Engineering confers 138 degrees at Winter Commencement

The College of Engineering conferred 138 degrees at the University’s Winter 2022 Commencement ceremony Dec. 10, 2022 at Lawlor Events Center: 85 bachelor’s, 33 master’s and 20 doctoral degrees.

“We are proud of our engineering graduates and wish them the best of success in their future endeavors,” Engineering Dean Erick Jones said, before the ceremony. “Congratulations, graduates, on this significant accomplishment.”

Other graduation activities at the College including the Order of the Engineer ceremony Dec. 9 and a breakfast on Dec. 10.

Thirty-seven students and Dean Jones participated in the Order of the Engineer ceremony, which involves publicly accepting the Obligation of an Engineer, a formal statement of public and professional ethics and responsibilities, similar to the Hippocratic Oath of medical professionals.

Winter graduates came from all five College departments: Chemical & Materials Engineering; Civil & Environmental Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering; Electrical & Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
