has appointed Adam Carpenter as the new Extension county coordinator for Carson City and Storey County. He joins a growing team of coordinators working to enhance and expand outreach programs to serve local communities.
Carpenter will work alongside community members, city and county offices and Extension colleagues to increase awareness of Extension programs available to residents in Carson City and Storey County. His efforts will focus on providing educational opportunities in areas such as nutrition, youth development and environmental conservation to bring practical, research-based knowledge directly to local communities.
"Adam brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to community engagement," said Holly Gatzke, Extension northern area director. "His work will strengthen partnerships and expand Extension’s impact in Carson City and Storey County, ensuring residents have access to the Extension educational programs they need."
Carpenter brings a strong background in education, community engagement and client relations. From 2014 to 2018, he served as a site leader for the Team Up After-School Program for the Washoe County School District, an initiative that provides elementary students in underserved communities with extra academic support and enrichment activities. He also filled in as a substitute teacher.
Carpenter also worked as a community events coordinator with the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum, organizing educational events and science programs for teenagers. For the past five years, he has been a client relations specialist with Healing Healthcare Systems, providing user experience and marketing support.
"I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve Carson City and Storey County and to work alongside Extension’s dedicated team," Carpenter said. "I look forward to connecting with residents and helping to enrich the lives of individuals and families in both regions."
Carpenter graduated from the ÐÔ°®ÎåÉ«Ìì, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.
