As part of a national 15 stop tour across six states, the will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 15 at the 性爱五色天, Reno Nightingale Concert Hall. The concert is free but does require advance ticket reservations.
A unique opportunity to experience one of the finest flagship musical organizations of the Navy, and just one of 11 Navy bands located around the world, the event is family-friendly and features an array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire.
As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Concert Band has been performing public concerts and high-profile events since 1925. Touring the country for 12 to 15 weeks each year, the Navy Concert Band reaches out to audiences in areas that do not have frequent opportunities to see the Navy’s premier musical ensembles. Sailors in the Navy Band are full-time, professional musicians, many with undergraduate and graduate degrees in music.
“For many years, Navy bands have been where it matters, when it matters, just like the rest of our Navy,” Capt. Kenneth Collins, the U.S. Navy Band commanding officer, said. “Today we have Sailors performing around the world, improving relations with our allies abroad as well as telling the Navy story here at home.”
