The College of Business at the 性爱五色天, Reno, has been selected to host the 2026 , the largest conference in the world for IS academics, practitioners and scholars.
“The conference will bring great visibility and attention to the University, the city of Reno and Northern Nevada,” Dave Croasdell, associate professor of information systems within the College of Business, said. “We feel very fortunate to have been selected to lead the AMCIS.”
The 2026 conference is set to take place Thursday, August 6, 2026, through Sunday, August 9, 2026, in the Peppermill Spa and Resort, with over 1000 attendees expected to join from around the world.
“The number of visitors to Reno will be beneficial in highlighting the technological growth and capabilities in the region,” Croasdell said. “We anticipate partnering with many local organizations to help draw interest to the conference and provide expertise for technologies being developed in our area. These partnerships will help to enhance and elevate both the research and outreach missions of the University.”
The Association for Information Systems is the largest organization of its kind for information systems professionals. AIS officially organizes the AMCIS and selects the host city and leadership team for the annual conference.
After an extensive selection process over the last two years, Reno was chosen to host the 2026 conference from among five finalists. In addition, numerous faculty members from the Informations Systems department at the University have agreed to serve on the leadership team.
“A conference in such a caliber is rewarding for any information systems department in the country,” Amir Talaei-Khoei, department chair and associate professor of information systems within the College of Business, said. “Our IS department is honored to have the opportunity to run the AMCIS and raise awareness on the quality of research and capabilities of our faculty.”
